Before you subscribe
These subscriptions are open to everyone who has a need to be supported with their secondary school place from year 7, including those who are looking to join a secondary school from year 8 or above and those who find themselves either outside the usual timeline for start of year intake and so require a secondary school place mid-year.
Choosing the school(s) you want (IDENTIFY) and the order that you put them in (REVIEW) can mean the difference between being successful at the initial allocation phase or not, and we don’t know anyone that would want to have to complete a secondary school appeal if they didn’t have to!
The importance of thinking ahead should not be underestimated, as if you are unsuccessful in the initial allocation and you want to pursue it, then a school appeal is the next step and so, it’s important to fully understand your options in phases 1 & 2 so that you can bring this knowledge into the appeal phase should you need to.
Why Starting Early Matters
Thinking ahead can make all the difference.
If your child isn’t offered a place at your preferred school, the next step is often a school appeal. While it is possible to succeed at appeal without completing our GetYourSchool IDENTIFY and REVIEW phases here, these earlier stages can significantly strengthen your position.
They help you make informed choices from the start and provide a solid foundation in case an appeal becomes necessary.
However, if you only come to us at the APPEAL stage, don’t worry — we’ve helped many parents be successful, even when they only joined us here. We’ll work together to prepare a strong case and give your child the best chance of success.
Remember, these packages can be used for a mid-year intake too, but the usual timeline is as follows:
Phase | Month | Action |
---|---|---|
1 | July (Identify) | Preparing and Completing Your Open Day Visits (The year prior to the start of the Secondary School) |
2 | October (REVIEW) | Choosing and registering your list of Secondary Schools |
3 | March (APPEAL) | Students advised of their allocated Secondary School / Appeal process opens. |
4 | April / May / June | Preparing your appeal presentation, if required. Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the appeal hearing, and parents informed of the outcome of their school appeal |
5 | July | School Holidays |
6 | September | Schools Open for start of school year |
Each subscription is time-limited to reflect the strict deadlines of the secondary school intake processes. This also helps keep you focused and moving forward at the right pace.
You’ll be asked to book your hands-on support session(s) straight away to make the most of your time.
Make sure you’re ready to begin when you subscribe — this ensures you don’t lose valuable time. Don’t worry, each subscription gives you plenty of time to work through everything with support.
